CHOWCHILLA, CA (June 2, 2020) – One person was killed following a two-vehicle crash Tuesday morning in Madera County, CHP official said.
The crash happened around 5:20 a.m. at the intersection of Avenue 18 1/2 and Road 13.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a sedan was traveling down Avenue 18 1/2 when it ran into the back of a slower tractor hauling a large piece of farming equipment on the roadway.
The impact killed the driver of the sedan. Authorities did not release the identity of the deceased pending family notification.
The tractor driver survived. It is unclear if they suffered any injuries.
Crews temporarily closed the roadways in the area as they examined the scene.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
