One Killed in Pedestrian Crash on 280 Freeway near Highway 87 [SAN JOSE, CA]

Early Morning Pedestrian Crash on 280 Freeway near Highway 87 Turns Fatal

 
SAN JOSE, CA (June 3, 2020) – One person died following a pedestrian crash early Wednesday morning in San Jose.
 
The crash happened around 12:20 a.m. on northbound 280 Freeway, just south of Highway 87.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the pedestrian was possibly walking between the two lanes of the ramp when a car hit them.
 
The victim, whose identity was not immediately available, suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
 
Crews closed Highway 87 just north of West Alma Avenue until around 1:10 a.m. They also closed the ramp from southbound 280 Freeway to northbound 87 until about 2:45 a.m.
 
It is unknown if the involved driver stayed or fled the scene. An investigation into this fatal incident is ongoing.
