Louis Walton Jr. Killed After Hit by Car on Highway 99 near Modesto

 
MODESTO, CA (June 3, 2020) — A 37-year-old man suffered fatal injuries in a pedestrian collision on Highway 99 early Monday morning.
 
The Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office identified the pedestrian as Louis Walton Jr. of Modesto.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision took place at about 4:30 a.m. in the northbound lanes north of Tuolumne Boulevard.
 
Reports indicated that Walton was on his hands and knees when he was hit by a 2017 Hyundai driven by 59-year-old Randy Longnecker of Modesto. The car was going at about 65 miles per hour at the time of the collision, the CHP said.
 
Walton died at the scene. Meantime, Longnecker did not report any injuries. He stayed at the scene after the crash.
 
The investigation of the crash continues. The detectives are yet to determine what caused the fatal incident and why Walton was in the freeway.
