Kenneth Fischer Arrested, Passenger Killed after Red Bluff DUI Crash

 
RED BLUFF, CA (June 3, 2020) — Officials arrested a 26-year-old Kenneth Fischer, of Reno, Nevada after a fatal DUI crash at 2:40 a.m. on Tuesday, June 2.
 
According to a press release issued by the CHP, a 2000 Ford Ranger westbound on Highway 36 east of Stice Road.
 
The truck left the roadway to the north, Fischer attempted to turn left in an attempt to re-enter the road. Then Fischer lost control of the car, the release stated. The truck spun, crossed the highway and slammed into an embankment and overturned.
 
The crash ejected the passenger, a 40-year-old Pekin, Illinois man, and suffered fatal injuries. His identity was not released pending notification of loved ones.
 
Fischer showed symptoms of driving while under the influence. Officers arrested him and then released him to St. Elizabeth Community Hospital for treatment of major injuries.
 
Authorities shut down the roadway for a short time to clean the debris. It has already reopened with little impact on traffic.
