Tayshawn Clayton Arrested in Deadly High-Speed Pursuit in Vacaville

 
VACAVILLE, CA (June 1, 2020) – Two young women died following a high-speed pursuit Monday morning in Vacaville.
 
Officials were unsure of the time of the crash, which occurred near the AM-PM mini-market in the 1400 block of Alamo Drive at Alamo Lane.
 
The pursuit started on eastbound 80 Freeway and the involved vehicle exited onto Alamo Drive. The pursuit was terminated and the car ended up crashing.
 
Two passengers in the vehicle suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
 
The Solano County Coroner on Tuesday identified the victims as 21-year-old Jaiah Metcalf of Sacramento and 19-year-old Alazae Jeffrey of Elk Grove.
 
Police arrested the driver of the vehicle, 21-year-old Tayshawn Larun Clayton, possibly of Sacramento. They booked him into the Solano County Jail.
 
Charges were listed as two counts of gross vehicular manslaughter, one count of evading police resulting in serious bodily injury or death and one count of drug-related DUI resulting in bodily injury.
 
An investigation is ongoing.
