65-Year-Old Woman Killed in Hit-and-Run on West Owens Avenue [Las Vegas, NV]

Police Seek Suspect Driver in Las Vegas Hit-and-Run on West Owens Avenue

 
LAS VEGAS, NV (June 2, 2020) — A 65-year-old woman was killed in a pedestrian hit-and-run on West Owens Avenue Saturday afternoon.
 
According to the Las Vegas police, they responded to the incident at about 4:03 p.m. on Saturday.
 
Their preliminary investigation showed that a 2020 Toyota Camry was going at a high rate of speed while eastbound on West Owens Avenue, approaching Main Street. The woman, meanwhile, was at a bus stop on the south sidewalk on Owens Avenue.
 
The Toyota veered off the road and onto the sidewalk on Owens Avenue, then struck a light pole, the bus stop, and the pedestrian. The vehicle subsequently drove over the pedestrian and then dragged her eastward on the sidewalk.
 
The Toyota hit another light pole before finally stopping, while the pedestrian was still stuck underneath the car.
 
The 65-year-old woman died at the scene. The Toyota driver left the scene on foot. The detectives are now seeking the public’s help in identifying and locating the driver.
