Rider Killed in Bicycle Accident on Highway 53 [Clearlake, CA]

One Dead after Clearlake Bicycle Accident on Highway 53 and Dam Road

 
CLEARLAKE, CA (June 2, 2020) – A man suffered fatal injuries following a bicycle accident on Highway 53 in Clearlake on Sunday, May 31.
 
According to Clearlake Police Chief Andrew White, the fatal accident happened around 10:40 p.m. at Highway 53 and Dam Road.
 
White confirmed that a vehicle struck and killed the adult male rider on his bicycle.
 
The identity of the deceased was not yet immediately released.
 
White said that officers conducted their on-site investigation along with the help of the California Highway Patrol late Sunday night.
 
The Clearlake Police Department issued a late-night Nixle alert. They notified people to use an alternate route on Highway 53 in the southbound lane from Dam Road to Anderson Ranch Parkway.
