Two Drivers Airlifted after Accident on Hesperia Road [Victorville, CA]

Two Drivers Injured in Victorville Fiery Accident on Hesperia Road

 
VICTORVILLE, CA (May 29, 2020) — Two drivers were airlifted to trauma centers after an accident on Hesperia Road on Thursday, May 28.
 
At around 12:20 a.m., deputies rushed to the intersection of Hesperia Road and Seneca Road for a major injury traffic collision.
 
A release said one of the drivers moved northbound on Hesperia Road at a high rate of speed. He lost control of the car and hit another vehicle head-on, as she traveled south on Hesperia Road.
 
Upon arrival, deputies discovered a driver, a 19-year-old male from Victorville, conscious and trapped inside a 2000 Ford. They also found another driver, a 32-year-old female from Hesperia, unconscious and trapped inside a 2017 Hyundai.
 
According to a news release, the engine compartment of the Ford caught fire. Deputies used fire extinguishers from their patrol units to prevent the flames from spreading further. Victorville City Fire Department personnel arrived and extinguished the flames. They also extricated both drivers from their cars.
 
Medics airlifted both drivers to nearby trauma centers for treatment of their injuries. The female driver was in stable condition, the condition of the male driver is not released.
 
The investigation of the incident is still ongoing.
