Hector Francisco Heredia Arrested in Nogales Bicycle Hit-and-Run Crash

 
NOGALES, AZ (June 01, 2020) — The authorities identified Mark Ryan Seeger as the bicyclist who died in a crash in Nogales Sunday morning.
 
The Nogales Police Department said the incident occurred at about 7:00 a.m.
 
Seeger, 66, was riding his bicycle southbound on Grand Avenue when a white Ford pickup truck hit him. Seeger died at Holy Cross Hospital where the paramedics rushed him after the crash. He was a retired supervisor with Child Protective Services in Nogales.
 
The driver of the truck, later identified as 41-year-old Hector Francisco Heredia, left the scene after the collision. However, the officers were able to locate the pickup truck in the Monte Carlo neighborhood. They arrested and subsequently booked Heredia into the county jail with a bail set at $1 million cash. Heredia faces one count of manslaughter and one count of leaving the scene of an accident.
 
Meantime, the police said they are treating the incident as a criminal matter. The Arizona Department of Public Safety will assist them with the investigation.
