Barry Tarrell Dantzler, Bicyclist Dead in Pursuit Accident in Tulare
TULARE, CA (June 1, 2020) — Barry Tarrell Dantzler accused of killing a woman face additional homicide charge after hitting a bicyclist in a pursuit crash.
According to Visalia police, detectives identified 30-year-old Dantzler as the suspect in a woman’s death during a home invasion on Tuesday.
It took detectives several days to track down Dantzler. At around 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 29, they spotted near Motel 6 in Tulare, Visalia Sgt. Celeste Sanchez stated.
When officials tried a traffic stop on Dantzler, he fled.
During the police chase, Dantzler lost control of his car and slammed into a utility pole. His vehicle rolled over and then struck a woman riding her bicycle, according to Sanchez.
The woman succumbed to her fatal injuries at the scene. Her identity and age were not available.
They arrested Dantzler and booked into Tulare County Pretrial Facility. His arraignment will be on Tuesday. He now faces home invasion, homicide, and felony evading charges. He could also be received charges for the death of the female bicyclist.
Tulare Police Department helped with Friday’s investigation, said Sanchez.
