4 Killed, 3 Critical after Head-On Crash on Highway 169 [Dewey, AZ]

Head-On Crash in Dewey Claims 4 Lives, Leaves 3 Others in Critical Condition

 
DEWEY, AZ (June 01, 2020) — Four people were killed and three others were critically injured in a head-on crash on Highway 169 Sunday morning.
 
According to the Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority (CAFMA), their crews responded to the crash at about 9:00 a.m. The incident involved two vehicles.
 
Four fire engines and four ambulances were at the scene during the emergency response.
 
The officials also requested three helicopters to airlift three patients to Phoenix area hospitals with critical injuries.
 
The closure of Highway 169 took effect for several hours while the officers processed, and crews cleared the scene.
 
The cause of the crash was not immediately clear. The detectives are now conducting further investigation to also determine the circumstances leading up to it.
