3-Year-Old Boy Seriously Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash on 210 Freeway [Sylmar, CA]

2 Adults, 3 Children Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash on 210 Freeway

 
SYLMAR, CA (February 14, 2020) – A toddler, two other children, and two adults suffered injuries in a two-vehicle crash on 210 Freeway, Friday afternoon.
 
According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the incident happened at about 2:10 PM. Due to unknown circumstances, two SUVs collided near the northbound 5 Freeway transition road. The impact of the collision ejected a 3-year-old boy from his car seat.
 
Emergency responders rushed the 3-year-old boy to an area hospital, where he remains in critical condition. Meanwhile, medics also transported a 6-year-old girl, a 12-year-old boy, a 27-year-old woman, and a 42-year-old woman to a hospital. Their conditions ranged from serious to fair.
 
Caltrans officials temporarily closed all eastbound lanes of the 210 Freeway as crews worked to clear the wreckage. Also, they cleaned six gallons of fuel that spilled on the road.
 
Officers continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
