VTA Train Hit and Killed Man near Curtner Station in San Jose
SAN JOSE, CA (February 11, 2020) — A VTA Train fatally hits a man near Curtner Station on Highway 87 in San Jose early Monday morning.
The authorities said the incident happened at approximately 5:45 a.m. Involved was a Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) light-rail train. It was reportedly southbound on the blue line near the Curtner Station along Highway 87 when it struck the man on the tracks.
The collision interrupted the service between the Curtner and Tamien stations. VTA officials set up a bus bridge to transport the passengers.
Meanwhile, the California Highway Patrol closed at least two southbound lanes of Highway 87. All lanes reopened after the investigation and cleanup.
Further investigation is being handled by the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office.
