One Fatally Injured after Kingsburg Train Accident on Highway 99
KINGSBURG, CA (February 11, 2020) – One person suffered fatal injuries following a train accident on Highway 99 in Tulare County on Saturday, February 8.
According to the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office, around 1:30 p.m., they received reports that a train struck and killed one person near Highway 99 and Merritt. The fire department arrived at the area and confirmed the fatality.
The identity of the victim was not immediately available.
Officials have not released the circumstances that lead to the incident and if impairment played a role.
California Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
