SAN LEANDRO, CA (February 9, 2020) – Several lanes were closed Sunday morning after a power pole fell and caused a crash on 880 Freeway.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at about 11:13 AM. Due to high winds, a power pole fell onto a red Toyota Prius north of 238 Freeway.
None of the vehicle’s three occupants suffered any major injuries.
CHP shut down several lanes after downed wires snarled traffic and caused widespread outages across the Bay Area. Officers later reopened affected areas at about 1:30 PM.
Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
