George Schultz and Patricia Schultz Hurt after Tractor-Trailer Accident

 
SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, CA (February 11, 2020) – Two people identified as George Schultz and Patricia Schultz suffered injuries in a trailer crash on Tuesday, February 4.
 
At around 2:15 p.m., the California Highway Patrol rushed to Highway 88 east of Red Lake Road after reports of the crash. The initial investigation shows that a tractor-trailer driven by 40-year-old Juan C. Hernandez, of Vacaville, move eastbound. At the same time, a Honda CRV with driver George Schultz, 81, and his passenger Patricia Schultz, 80, traveled west.
 
As Hernandez drove his big rig around a corner, he allowed enough of the truck to cross over the yellow line into the path of the Schultz’s. The left front of the Honda crashed into the left front of the truck.
 
Paramedics rushed Mr. Schultz to Renown Hospital in Reno via Careflight and Ms. Schultz via Cal-Star. Their condition is not yet determined. CHP said their driver’s licenses show that they were from South Lake Tahoe and Oakdale. Their relationship is not yet determined.
 
Hernandez did not suffer injuries.
 
CHP said the incident is still under investigation. However, they do not believe alcohol or drugs contributed to the incident.
