Man Killed, Woman Hurt after Oakland Traffic Accident on Hegenberger Road

 
OAKLAND, CA (February 10, 2020) — A 24-year-old man died and a woman badly injured after an accident on Hegenberger Road on Saturday, February 8.
 
The accident occurred 9:24 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Hegenberger Road and Hamilton Street. Authorities said a man drove a Honda northbound on Hegenberger. After that, he crashed with an Infiniti driven by a woman traveling eastbound on Hamilton.
 
The man died at the scene. His name, an Oakland resident, has not been released pending notification of his loved ones.
 
The woman sustained severe injuries, but remained in stable condition at a hospital, police stated.
 
There were no passengers in either vehicle.
 
Police said the incident remains under investigation. Officials said that alcohol does not appear to be a factor.
