4-Year-Old Boy Killed in Car Crash on Coalinga Avenue [Richmond, CA]
Driver Surrendered after Fatal Car Crash on Coalinga Avenue
RICHMOND, CA (February 10, 2020) – A boy sustained fatal injuries after a car crash on the 2200 block of Coalinga Avenue on Friday, February 7.
The 4-year-old child, whom police identified only as Hector, walked with his parents along Coalinga Avenue. Then a metallic blue two-door Ford Explorer struck the boy at around 5:00 p.m.
The vehicle did not stop and last seen going westbound on Coalinga Avenue from 23rd Street.
The boy suffered critical injuries when medics airlifted him to the hospital. However, he died from his injuries at 11:50 p.m. Friday.
According to police Lt. Matt Stonebraker, the driver turned himself into Richmond police Saturday evening. Officials have not immediately released his identity. The police did not say if there have been charges filed against him.
