Man Hurt after San Diego Car Crash on Sports Arena Boulevard
SAN DIEGO, CA (February 7, 2020) — A 57-year-old man suffered severe injuries in a car crash on Sports Arena Boulevard on Wednesday, February 5.
San Diego police Officer John Buttle stated that the incident occurred around 4:05 p.m. at the home improvement store off Sports Arena Boulevard and Kemper Street.
The 57-year-old man walked on the sidewalk next to the store. Then an 80-year-old man driving a 2015 Toyota Prius westbound through the parking lot struck him, Buttle stated.
They transported the victim to a hospital. He received treatments for internal bleeding and remained intubated early Thursday morning. The officer said that the man’s injuries are considered to be life-threatening.
The driver stayed at the scene and impairment was not a factor in the crash, Buttle said.
