24-Year-Old Alyssa Alexus Contreras Dies in Multi-Car Crash on 605 Freeway

 
NORWALK, CA (February 5, 2020) – Authorities identified 24-year-old Alyssa Alexus Contreras of La Puente as the woman killed in a crash on 605 Freeway, Wednesday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at about 3:45 AM. Due to unknown circumstances, a southbound Toyota Corolla struck the concrete center divider. Then, a Dodge Ram pickup truck and a Honda Accord struck the Toyota.
 
The impact of the collision caused the Toyota to overturn and ejected Contreras from the vehicle. A short time later, the overturned Toyota was struck by a Chrysler PT Cruiser.
 
Paramedics pronounced Contreras dead at the scene.
 
Emergency responders later transported the Honda driver, 42-year-old Jose O. Estrada, and the pickup driver, 28-year-old Jonathan J. Villalpando, to a hospital with minor to major injuries. Meanwhile, the Chrysler driver, 46-year-old Milton Max Marquardt did not sustain injuries.
 
CHP officers continue to investigate the cause of the fatal crash. Investigators ask witnesses to call (562) 868-0503 as soon as possible.
