38-Year-Old Woman Hospitalized after El Cerrito Pedestrian Crash on El Cajon Boulevard
EL CERRITO, CA (February 2, 2020) – A 38-year-old woman suffered injuries in a pedestrian crash on El Cajon Boulevard, Sunday evening.
According to the San Diego Police Department, the incident happened near 56th Street, at about 10:30 PM. Due to unknown reasons, a woman ran across El Cajon Boulevard and into the side of an eastbound Toyota Corolla.
The pedestrian suffered a skull fracture, a spinal fracture, a broken leg, and other injuries as a result of the collision. Emergency responders rushed the victim to a hospital, where she is expected to recover. Meanwhile, the 19-year-old driver remained and cooperated with investigators.
Police officers believe that the woman was intoxicated at the time of the crash. Investigators encourage witnesses to cooperate and reach out as soon as possible. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
