Pedestrian Dead after Hit-and-Run Crash on Vista Village Drive and Wave Drive
VISTA, CA (February 4, 2020) – A pedestrian in a wheelchair died after a hit-and-run crash on Vista Village Drive in Vista on Sunday, February 2.
The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department said that the happened around 12:22 a.m. near the intersection of Vista Village Drive and Wave Drive.
According to SDSO Sgt. Adrian Moses, the pedestrian, a 43-year-old man, was crossing at the crosswalk in a wheelchair. Then a vehicle struck him.
The driver of the car left the crash site immediately and has not been identified or found, SDSO stated.
The pedestrian died at the scene. His identity was not yet released pending family notification.
The Vista Traffic Division is still investigating the incident.
