Rider Dead in Temecula Motorcycle Crash near Highway 79 and Anza Road
TEMECULA, CA (February 04, 2020) – A male motorcyclist suffered fatal injuries in a crash near Highway 79 and Anza Road in Temecula Thursday night.
The incident occurred at approximately 6:30 p.m. according to the California Highway Patrol.
The man was riding a 2016 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, traveling southeast on Highway 79, when he was unable to negotiate a curve. He crossed into opposing lanes and collided with an oncoming 2009 Volvo semi-truck.
The name of the rider was not released. The authorities said he was a 34-year-old Hemet man. He died at the scene. On the other hand, the semi-truck driver did not report any injuries.
The crash prompted the shutdown of Highway 79 up until about 9:45 p.m.
Meantime, the investigation was ongoing. However, the officials believed that alcohol was not a factor.
