LEMON GROVE, CA (February 3, 2020) – A man lost his life after he was fatally struck by an SUV on Highway 94, Monday evening.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at about 9:05 PM. Due to unknown reasons, a man on the right shoulder of the freeway walked into traffic, directly into the path of a 2010 Toyota RAV4. Then, the SUV hit him east of College Avenue.
 
Emergency responders pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin. Meanwhile, the 29-year-old SUV driver remained and cooperated with investigators.
 
CHP officers continue to investigate the cause of the fatal crash. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
