INDIAN WELLS, CA (February 4, 2020) — Police identified 22-year-old Leah Meyers-McCracken as the woman who died in a pedestrian accident in Indian Wells Friday night.
The Riverside County Coroner’s office said the victim, who was from Yucca Valley, died at the scene around 9:50 p.m.
The crash occurred at about 9:45 p.m. between Cook Street and Desert Horizons Drive. A Honda minivan driven by a 41-year-old Palm Desert woman hit Meyers-McCracken.
Meantime, the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene. She was interviewed and was cooperative as per the investigators.
The investigation of the crash is ongoing. Driving under the influence has not been ruled out as a possible factor.
