SACRAMENTO, CA (February 04, 2020) — A fatal pedestrian accident on Highway 99 and 47th Avenue in Sacramento occurred Thursday night in Sacramento.
 
The California Highway Patrol said a big rig struck the pedestrian at about 7:15 p.m. on the northbound side of the highway.
 
The investigators found that the pedestrian ran from the right shoulder into the number 4 lane and hit. The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the victim after notification of the family.
 
The truck driver pulled over after the incident as per the officials.
 
Meantime, all lanes of the highway were shut down during the cleanup that lasted up until 9:10 p.m.
 
In light of the accident, the CHP Sacramento office advised that it is illegal for pedestrians to walk on freeways. They said it is dangerous to both pedestrians and motorists.
