Injuries Reported Following San Diego Pedestrian Accident at Bayard Street
SAN DIEGO, CA (February 3, 2020) — A 50-year-old man in a wheelchair suffered injuries after a collision at Bayard Street and Grand Avenue Thursday night.
The incident took place past 6:00 p.m. according to the San Diego police. Investigators found that the man ignored a red light and rolled into the intersection. At the same time, a 33-year-old woman was driving a 2008 Nissan Versa eastbound on Grand Avenue. They said she had a green light and a right of way at the time of the accident.
The wheelchair-bound man, who allegedly had been drinking, broke his leg in the collision. Emergency personnel took him to a hospital for treatment of his injuries.
Meantime, the driver of the Nissan was not impaired as per the police.
