Man Killed in Pedestrian Accident on East Silverlake Road [Tucson, AZ]

Pedestrian Dies after Crash on East Silverlake Road near South Euclid Avenue

 
TUCSON, AZ (January 29, 2020) – A man lost his life in a pedestrian accident on East Silverlake Road, Wednesday evening.
 
According to the Tucson Police Department, the incident happened at about 8:00 PM. Due to unknown reasons, the man was standing in the middle of the street. A witness warned the man to get him out of the road, but he refused.
 
Then, the witness attempted to physically help the pedestrian out of the road. However, the man became aggressive and pushed the witness away. After the witness ran to the side of the road, a large delivery box truck hit the pedestrian.
 
Emergency responders rushed the victim to a local hospital, where he later died. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin. Meanwhile, the truck driver remained and cooperated with investigators.
 
Tucson police continue to investigate the cause of the fatal crash. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
