Woman Killed, Man Injured After Hit by Vehicle in Garden Grove

 
GARDEN GROVE, CA (January 31, 2020) — A pedestrian accident on Westminster Avenue and Brookhurst Street left a 77-year-old woman dead ad a 79-year-old man injured Thursday afternoon.
 
The Garden Grove police said they received reports on the incident at about 5:10 p.m. A vehicle veered off the roadway and onto the sidewalk and struck the victims.
 
The vehicle ended up on top of the pedestrians. Several people helped push it off of them.
 
Emergency personnel took both victims to UCI Medical Center. The woman died from her injuries, while the man suffered multiple fractures but was in stable condition.
 
Meantime, the 45-year-old man driving the vehicle stayed at the scene after the incident. The officers said the driver showed no signs of impairment after an evaluation.
 
A 3-year-old boy was also in the vehicle at the time of the collision. However, he was not injured but was taken to a hospital as a precaution.
