Madera County Board Supervisor Candidate Eddie Block Arrested after DUI Accident

 
MADERA, CA (January 31, 2020) – Officials arrested Eddie Block after his car crashed into two different residences on Wednesday, January 29.
 
According to investigators, Block drove down Avenue 12 near Loren Way. Then he lost control of his Dodge Ram and struck Macias’s mailbox. After that, he overcorrected and crashed into a fence and a parked car. Then the vehicle smashed into a home on the other side of the road. The suspect then went out of the pickup and fled.
 
No one sustained injuries. Yet, the evidence of the violent crash remains scattered around the area.
 
Maria Macias, one of the residents, said that the sound of a vehicle crashing into her brick mailbox woke her as she slept just feet away from the collision. She said her mailbox saved her life.
 
When officers arrived, they found a license plate before arriving on the scene. They were able to find the driver a couple of blocks away, California Highway Patrol Greg Rodriguez said.
 
Block, who is running for Madera County Board of Supervisors in District 4, was arrested and faces several charges of DUI and hit-and-run.
 
Block has since been bonded out of jail.
