PHOENIX, AZ (January 30, 2020) – Two children were hospitalized after a two-car crash on 27th Avenue and Van Buren Street on Monday, January 27.
 
According to Phoenix police, a black SUV ran a red light and slammed with another vehicle. Police said paramedics transported a 12-year-old girl and a 7-year-old girl in that vehicle to a hospital with minor injuries.
 
According to the Phoenix Fire Department, seven people occupied the SUV and the vehicle it hit.
 
Phoenix police said that both drivers remained on the scene. Investigators do not believe that intoxication played a role in the accident.
 
Officers shut down Van Buren Street westbound from 21st to 27th avenues during traffic light repairs and investigation.
