Olivia Mena Dead after Tucson Pedestrian Crash

 
TUCSON, AZ (January 30, 2020) — 50-year-old Olivia R. Mena died following a pedestrian accident in Tucson on Tuesday, January 21.
 
According to officers, at around 6:30 a.m., the crash occurred in the intersection of North Stone Avenue and West Grant Road. Upon arrival, Tucson Fire crews gave medical aid to the pedestrian. They rushed her to Banner University Medical Center with critical injuries.
 
On January 24, detectives received reports that the pedestrian has died from her injuries in the crash.
 
Detectives determined that a silver 2015 Toyota Tacoma moved eastbound on Grant in the center lane headed toward Stone. After that, police said that a vehicle in front of the Tacoma suddenly swerved to the right. As the vehicle swerved Mena walked across the Tacoma’s lane.
 
According to detectives, the Tacoma tried to swerve as well. After that, it struck Mena with the front passenger corner. In addition, Mena tried to cross Grant from south to north.
 
Officers found out that the driver of the Tacoma was not intoxicated. In addition, speed does not appear to be a factor.
 
There had been no reports if there were citations or charges issued. However, the investigation into the crash is still ongoing.
