63-Year-Old John Elvis Jones Killed in Pedestrian Crash on Highway 50

 
DAYTON, NV (January 26, 2020) – Authorities identified 63-year-old John Elvis Jones of Dayton as the pedestrian killed in an accident on Highway 50, Sunday evening.
 
According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, the incident happened at about 7:43 PM. Due to unknown reasons, Jones dismounted his Bombardier ATV and left it unattended in the left lane. Then, a westbound black 2013 Dodge Journey hit him in the far-right lane near Mark Twain Avenue.
 
Emergency responders pronounced Jones dead at the scene. A GoFundMe page has been set up to assist Jones’ family with funeral expenses. Click on the link to donate and to support the campaign.
 
It is unknown whether or not the driver remained and cooperated with investigators. Authorities encourage witnesses to contact the patrol as soon as possible. Officials will release additional information once it becomes available.
