Rosa Garcia Dead after Los Angeles Hit-and-Run Crash on Sunset Boulevard

 
LOS ANGELES, CA (January 28, 2020) – One person identified as Rosa Garcia, 61, of Los Angeles, died following a head-on crash on Thursday, January 23.
 
According to the reports, at around 7:45 a.m., the driver of a 2019 BMW M4 moved westbound on Sunset Boulevard near Douglas Street. Then he went into the eastbound lanes of Sunset Boulevard and crashed the BMW head-on into a 2004 Toyota Corolla. After that, the suspect driver fled on foot without giving aid or identifying himself, officials said.
 
Paramedics transported the driver of the Toyota to a hospital, where she died from her injuries, police stated.
 
Officers identified the suspect as 39-year-old Ilya Foks from Los Angeles. Police said that he is likely homeless. He is known to hang out in West Hollywood, Echo Park, and Silver Lake.
 
Foks is white, 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs 190 pounds with blond hair and green eyes.
 
The city offers a $50,000 reward for information that will to the arrest and conviction of drivers involved in fatal hit-and-run incidents.
