Man Seriously Injured in Train Collision on Oswell Street near Edison Highway
BAKERSFIELD, CA (January 23, 2020) – A pedestrian suffered injuries following a train collision on Oswell Street, Thursday evening.
According to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened at about 8:00 PM. Due to unknown circumstances, a train hit the pedestrian near Edison Highway and Laguna Seca Way.
Emergency responders rushed the pedestrian to a hospital after he suffered serious injuries to his legs. The victim remains in critical condition, but officials expect him to survive.
The BNSF police continue to investigate the cause of the crash. Investigators encourage witnesses to reach out and cooperate as soon as possible. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
