Two Killed, Four Hurt after Traffic Crash on Railroad Canyon Road

 
CANYON LAKE, CA (January 27, 2020) – Two people died and four others were injured in an accident on Railroad Canyon Road around 9:54 p.m. on Friday, January 24.
 
Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said that the collision, which involved three vehicles, happened on Railroad Canyon Road west of Goetz Road around 9:54 p.m.
 
A car moving east on Railroad Canyon Road rear-ended a second vehicle moving in the same direction.
 
One of those two vehicles then crossed over the center divider. Then it collided head-on into a third vehicle moving west on Railroad Canyon.
 
Two people in the third vehicle died at the scene, the Sheriff’s Department stated.
 
Four others sustained injuries in the accident, according to the Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department. Officers extricated two of the four from the wrecked vehicles. The four patients had moderate injuries. Paramedics rushed them to a hospital, the department stated.
 
Officials temporarily shut down all lanes of the road.
 
The identity of the deceased was not immediately disclosed.
