Ronnie Rodriguez Killed after Hit-and-Run Accident on Brawley Avenue

 
FRESNO, CA (January 27, 2020) — A man in a wheelchair identified as Ronnie Rodriguez, 53, of Fresno, died in a hit-and-run accident on Friday, January 24.
 
Officers stated that they received a 911 call at about 6:30 p.m. near Brawley Avenue just north of McKinley Avenue.
 
The caller told officers a man was struck by an unknown vehicle. When police and paramedics responded they discovered him dead at the scene.
 
Lt. Bill Dooley with the Fresno Police Department said the victim, Rodriguez, is a Hispanic that lived nearby. According to Dooley, the area did not have any sidewalks, crosswalks or streetlights.
 
Police said a witness heard the accident. The witness told them they noticed a white 4×4 pickup truck leaving the crash site.
 
Authorities closed off the area during the investigation.
 
Officers and detectives are going to ask the residential and business establishments if anybody has video surveillance of any vehicles that left the scene around the time of the incident, Dooley stated.
