Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Vehicle on Mira Mesa Boulevard
SAN DIEGO, CA (January 27, 2020) – An 86-year-old male pedestrian was struck and killed by a car in Mira Mesa Boulevard on Thursday, January 23.
According to Officer Robert Heims, the San Diego Police Department received a report about the crash in the 7500 block of Mira Mesa Boulevard near Aderman Avenue at around 6:51 p.m.
A 52-year-old woman drove westbound on Mira Mesa Boulevard in a 2009 Lexus sedan. Then she struck the pedestrian in the boulevard’s second lane. She stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Authorities do not suspect drugs or alcohol as a contributing factor in the incident, Heims stated
The pedestrian was walking in a crosswalk against a red light during the incident, officials said.
The victim died at the scene. The driver did not sustain any injuries, Heims said.
