40-Year-Old Brandon Bachelier Dies in Suspected DUI Crash in Hesperia

 
HESPERIA, CA (January 24, 2020) – Authorities identified 40-year-old Brandon Bachelier of Hesperia as the man killed in a head-on collision near Key Ponte Avenue, Friday evening.
 
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, the incident happened at about 11:57 PM. Due to unknown reasons, a northbound 2003 Honda Accord traveled into the southbound lanes of Amargosa Road. There, it collided head-on with a 2016 Kia Forte.
 
The impact of the collision sheared off the driver side door of the Honda. Then, Bachelier, who was not secured in a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle.
 
San Bernardino County Fire Department Paramedics pronounced Bachelier dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the 20-year-old female driver of the Kia cooperated with investigators.
 
The Hesperia Station Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. Officials believe that alcohol played a role in the fatal crash. Anyone with information about the collision should call (760) 947-1500 as soon as possible.
