34-Year-Old Woman Struck, Killed by 2 Cars in Phoenix

 
PHOENIX, AZ (January 24, 2020) — A 34-year-old woman died in a pedestrian accident on North 35th Avenue in Phoenix Tuesday evening.
 
The Phoenix police said two cars struck the woman while she was walking near West Missouri Avenue at about 9:30 p.m.
 
First, the driver of a 2010 Kia Forte reportedly saw the victim and tried to avoid hitting her but couldn’t. After that, the driver of a 2001 Nissan Maxima hit the woman.
 
An initial investigation showed that the woman was not crossing at a marked intersection. Additionally, she may have stopped in the roadway as per the officials.
 
Meantime, both drivers remained at the scene.
 
The investigators did not believe that speed and impairment were factors in the collision. However, the investigation is ongoing.
