Taylor Crepeau and Andrew Friedt Killed in Vancouver Pedestrian Crash on 112th Avenue

 
VANCOUVER, WA (January 23, 2020) — Officials identified Vancouver residents Taylor Crepeau, 14, and Andrew Friedt, 17, as the victims in a pedestrian crash.
 
The initial investigation determined that both teens wore dark clothing when they stepped off of a curb on NE 112th Avenue. The accident took place between 20th and 23rd Streets, just after 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 21.
 
The driver of a green Chevy pickup told police he didn’t see the teens in time to brake before impact. While there is street lighting in the area, the spot where the crash happened had no crosswalk and was not well-lit.
 
According to the police said, the 19-year-old male driver, did not appear to be impaired during the crash. Early indications suggest that the driver did not see the pedestrians. He was unable to stop in time before hitting them.
 
Authorities shut down several blocks of NE 112th Avenue for hours during the police investigation.
