Stanley Harmon Dead in Hit-and-Run near Downtown Las Vegas

 
LAS VEGAS, NV (January 23, 2020) — A 60-year-old man died in a pedestrian hit-and-run crash near downtown Las Vegas early Saturday morning.
 
The police said the incident occurred at about 5:00 a.m. near Las Vegas Boulevard and Owens Avenue.
 
On Monday, the Clark County Coroner’s office identified the victim as Stanley Harmon. He died from blunt force trauma.
 
The witnesses told police that a pedestrian was crossing outside of a marked crosswalk when a newer SUV hit him. The pedestrian was thrown into the driveway of Woodlawn Cemetery. The driver, on the other hand, fled the scene.
 
The authorities described the hit-and-run vehicle as a white SUV with right front damage and a missing mirror on the passenger side. They said it is likely a Dodge Journey or a Dodge Durango.
 
Meantime, the shutdown of Las Vegas Boulevard took effect for several hours due to the crash. The incident remains under investigation.
