Raymond Rivera Dies in Reno Pedestrian Crash on 80 Freeway

 
RENO, NV (January 23, 2020) — A pedestrian crash on 80 Freeway left a 44-year-old man dead early Sunday morning, January 12, near Reno.
 
The Washoe County Medical Examiner has identified the victim as Raymond Rivera. The officials believe that Rivera was homeless.
 
According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, Rivera was fatally struck while he was walking on the freeway near the Virginia Street intersection. He was taken to Renown Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
 
The crash caused the closure of westbound 80 Freeway to one lane during the emergency response.
