Three Drivers Involved in Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash on Clairemont Mesa Boulevard

 
CLAIREMONT, CA (January 22, 2020) – A 44-year-old man lost his life in a hit-and-run crash on Clairemont Mesa Boulevard, Wednesday evening.
 
According to the San Diego Police Department, the incident happened at about 7:30 PM. The man was struck by the vehicle in the No. 2 lane of Clairemont Mesa Boulevard. Then, two other vehicles struck the victim.
 
Emergency responders pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin. Meanwhile, all three drivers did not stop to render aid and fled the area.
 
It was unclear if the victim was in a marked crosswalk at the time of the accident and fault is yet to be determined. Investigators asked witnesses to call Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477 as soon as possible. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
