GROVER BEACH, CA (January 23, 2020) – A man was struck and killed by car on Oak Park Boulevard in Grover Beach on Tuesday, January 21.
 
The pedestrian accident happened in the 300 block of North Oak Park Boulevard. According to police, emergency crews rushed to the scene at around 6:58 p.m.
 
Crews discovered an adult male who suffered critical injuries after an SUV struck him.
 
According to the release, the initial investigation showed that the pedestrian tried to cross the road near an unmarked intersection. After that, a vehicle struck him.
 
Officers administered CPR until paramedics arrived. However, the man died at the scene. In addition, his identity is not yet available pending notification of next of kin, police said.
 
The driver of the vehicle, whose name was not released, remained at the scene and spoke with officers about the accident. In addition, officers checked the driver. However, they did not find him to be under the influence.
 
The Grover Beach Police Department and California Highway Patrol handle the ongoing investigation of the collision.
