Pedestrian Fatally Injured in Berkeley Hit-And-Run Accident on University Avenue

 
BERKELEY, CA (January 22, 2020) — A pedestrian suffered fatal injuries in a hit-and-run accident on University Avenue on Monday, January 20.
 
At about 10:30 a.m., a UC Berkeley police officer was driving on Sixth Street. Then he noticed a gray Nissan four-door sedan parked along the curb. He also heard a woman inside the car screaming for help.
 
As the officer approached, the driver sped away. Then the suspect vehicle struck and killed a female pedestrian on University Avenue west of Sixth Street. Her identity and city of residence were not yet released.
 
The car was last seen traveling onto 80 Freeway and the driver remained at large Monday afternoon. As a result, any person with information can contact the police at 510-981-5741.
