Officers Arrest Jose Garcia after Salinas Hit-and-Run Injuring 2 Women

 
SALINAS, CA (January 22, 2020) — The authorities arrested a 63-year-old driver in relation to a hit-and-run crash that injured two women on Monday, January 13.
 
Reports indicated that Jose Garcia was driving northbound a silver Chevrolet Suburban when he struck two women ages 90 and 68. The incident occurred at Sacred Heart Church at 22 Stone Street.
 
Garcia drove off after the collision without making any attempt to stop.
 
Emergency crews transported the two women to Natividad Medical Center with serious injuries. The 68-year-old woman has since been released from the hospital. On the other hand, the 90-year-old patient was still in a serious but stable condition.
 
The officers were able to locate Garcia on Saturday, January 18. They arrested him on suspicion of hit-and-run resulting in injury, driving without a license, and a probation violation. They subsequently booked Garcia into the Monterey County Jail. Bail was set at $200,000.
 
They also took the vehicle he was driving as a piece of evidence in the case.
