Brian Hieb Dead in Tucson Crash After Fleeing Traffic Stop
TUCSON, AZ (January 22, 2020) — 52-year-old Brian Hieb died in a crash after fleeing a traffic stop in northwest Tucson on Tuesday, January 14.
According to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, deputies attempted to make the traffic stop at about 9:45 p.m. at La Cañada Drive and River Road. However, Hieb did not stop and sped off northward on La Cañada.
His vehicle then clipped another vehicle, before crashing into a guardrail near Emerine Drive.
Hieb, who was the only occupant of his vehicle, died at the scene.
Meantime, further investigation of the incident is underway. The authorities urged anyone with information to call 911 or 88-CRIME.
