1 Dead after Four-Car Collision on 280 Freeway near Cesar Chavez Street

 
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (January 18, 2020) – A pedestrian died in a four-car collision on 280 Freeway, Saturday evening.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at about 8:00 PM. Four vehicles collided near the Cesar Chavez Street exit. Due to unknown reasons, a pedestrian was involved in the crash.
 
Emergency responders pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin. It is unknown whether or not other people involved suffered injuries in the crash.
 
CHP officers continue to investigate the cause of the fatal crash. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
