Hit-and-Run Driver Fatally Hurt after Car Crash on Hall Road
LAMONT, CA (January 20, 2020) — A driver died in a car crash on Hall Road while fleeing the scene of an earlier hit-and-run collision on Friday, January 17.
CHP Sgt. Rick Pierce said the driver fled the scene of a hit-and-run crash near Palm Avenue and Main Street. The driver of a gray Toyota Camry rear-ended a Hyundai Tucson then the Camry driver fled the scene.
According to CHP, at around 8:20 p.m., the driver missed a stop sign at the intersection of Hall Road and Habecker Road. Then the vehicle crashed into a solid wall. The driver of the Camry was going at a high rate of speed, officials said.
No passengers from Hyundai Tucson were harmed in the initial collision.
The identity of the Camry driver was not yet released. CHP is continuing the investigation of the incident at this time.
